At our school, student wellbeing and learning go hand in hand. We want every student to feel safe, included and ready to learn. Whether your child needs help with their mental, emotional, social or physical wellbeing, we are here to help them thrive at school and in daily life.
How we support student wellbeing
Supporting each student’s mental, emotional, social and physical wellbeing is part of everyday school life.
We do this through:
teachers who help students feel welcome and included
access to school counsellors, school psychologists and specialist staff
programs that support health, social skills, attendance and positive behaviour
help for students who are new or changing year levels
clear expectations for behaviour and respectful relationships
staff who get to know each child and work closely with families
🌟 Bringelly Public School – Merit & Honour Award System
At Bringelly Public School, we recognise and celebrate students who consistently show great effort and live our FROGS values:
🐸 Be Friendly 🐸 Be Respectful 🐸 Take Opportunities 🐸 Show Great Effort 🐸 Be Safe
Our award system encourages positive behaviour, strong learning habits and personal growth.
🏅 Merit Awards – Everyday Recognition
Students can receive Merit Awards for:
✔ Trying their best in learning ✔ Showing positive behaviour ✔ Being respectful ✔ Demonstrating FROGS values at school
Merit Awards are given regularly to acknowledge effort and positive choices.
👉 Merit Awards are the only awards that count toward Honour Awards.
🎖 Honour Award Progression
As students collect Merit Awards, they move through the Honour Award levels:
🥉 Bronze Honour Award – 10 Merit Awards 🥈 Silver Honour Award – 20 Merit Awards total 🥇 Gold Honour Award – 30 Merit Awards total 🏆 Principal’s Medal – 40 Merit Awards total
Each Honour Award is recognised with a certificate at assembly, with the Principal’s Medal presented at the annual Presentation Assembly.
⭐ After the Principal’s Medal
Once a student achieves the Principal’s Medal, they continue to earn Merit Awards for recognition and encouragement, even though there are no further Honour Award levels.
📅 Important Information
• Only Merit Awards earned in 2026 count toward Honour Awards this year • Students hand in their previous certificate to move to the next level
